I first met Robert (Bob) Stumper around 15 years ago when he was affiliated with USI. Initially, my organization was not looking to change brokers, but over time Bob provided such informative data that it demonstrated how deficient our brokers at that time had been. As a result, we engaged Bob and his team as the broker of record. As I have changed organizations over the subsequent years, in each instance the brokers of record did not measure up to the support and services that Bob has provided. To ensure that my judgment was not prejudiced, I initiated a “request for proposal” (RFP) process and formed a committee to confirm that the change in representation was fair and appropriate.
